The Lannan Foundation has a writers-in-residency program here and Ballroom Marfa shows art films and hosts musical performances throughout the year.

Far from city lights, you are bound to see something in the night skies you cannot explain, and this area is best known for the Marfa Lights. If you look southwest towards the Chinati Mountains, you can see the lights flickering between Marfa and Paisano Pass. The town celebrates the lights each year with the three-day Marfa Lights Festival.
