Location: Menard (TX)

Menard County is located on the Edwards Plateau Region of the US state of Texas.  The city of Menard is the county seat.  The county is named after Michael Branamour Menard, the founder of Galveston, Texas.  Fort McKavett was a frontier fort established as Camp on the San Saba in 1852 to protect settlers from Indian raids.
